We are in our infancy. What began as a conversation in the summer of 2025 about dreams for a decade away rapidly took form in a new nonprofit organization with solid leadership and miraculous funding. As such, what you read below is where we are heading. Over the coming months we will have a lot more information on availability and services.
Mission
We know what it takes to leave behind life in your passport country, and to make a new place and people your home. It is a privilege, and it comes at great cost. Our vision is to see a generation of cross-cultural workers spiritually and emotionally whole, equipped to serve with resilience and integrity, and supported by a global community that values their well-being.
Wilderland Ministries is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to establishing centers of care and formation for Christian cross-cultural workers. We give the gift of space and community to facilitate rest, formation, and restoration in the way of Jesus. Our primary focus is on caring for global missionaries and people working in the creative sectors. We provide these offerings at no cost to the workers.
Strategy
We achieve our objectives through people, places, and practices.
People - a team who live and serve internationally, forming local communities that welcome and care for Christian cross-cultural workers, and stewarding the properties and resources entrusted to us.
Places - a network of strategically located properties that offer an environment of connection to God, self and others in creation and community. Each location will seek to be a good neighbor to existing local communities.
Practices - the delivery of one-to-one, family, and group offerings that heal hurts, nurture growth, and establish rhythms of spiritual practices. This includes debriefing, coaching, spiritual direction, guided sabbaticals, trainings, and special event retreats.
Each location will discover and develop a form of self-sustenance that is of benefit to the Wilderland community, makes space for guests to participate, and is in harmony with the local economy (e.g. community gardens).
Each Wilderland center will operate under a common Rule of Life that prioritizes beholding Jesus and becoming more like Him.
The Journey
Founded late in 2025, Wilderland Ministries has already received major funding to establish our first center. Our goals are to launch one US and one international center in the next five years. More information is coming soon, along with ways you can financially support the launch of this work.
